The Spot
Chania Kalamaki spot is located in Just 5km west from Chania city center. A stunning bay with shallow water and familly friendly organized beach providing ideal windsurfing conditions with west winds and perfect surf conditions with North wind.
Surfing Spot: Kalamaki spot ideal for Surf activities. The sandy beach with waist high water is a perfect playground for the first steps in wave riding. Our station provides a full range of Surfboards, SUP, Bodyboards for all levels and needs. Everyone can have fun in the water with safety, from the young kids to adults.
When the wind come from north, there are waves from 0,5m to 2m high. The spot is a beach break with sandy seafloor and waist to shoulder high deep water.
Windsurfing conditions: During summer months the thermal West winds guarantee planning conditions for 5-10 days per month (with force 4 to 5 and some days force 6 beauforts).
Perfect playground: The training playground is extremely safe, ensuring children and beginners will enjoy a fun introduction to windsurfing in a secure environment.
The Station: Our main station located at Chania Kalamaki beach is working daily from 1st of May until the end of October.For the same period we operate two more windsurfing, surfing spots at Elafonisi spot & Falasarna spot.
It is a friendly place too for your non-windsurfing partners. Perfect natural scenery, calmwater to swim in, with a well organized area with umbrellas, drinks and food.
Kalamaki beach is not really a village but an area along the coast, somewhat squeezed between the sea and the village of Galatas further inland. It is very organized area with plenty of choices hotels, tavernas, coffee shops & bars with in walking distanse.
